Economics
of Sports : More than Medals
-- Amit Singh Sisodiya and Sudesh Gonela

sporting events like Beijing Olympics are no longer
just about winning medals, national pride and sportsmanship;

invest a staggering $43 bn in building infrastructure
and other facilities for the mega show. While sportspersons
vie for the glory of gold, silver and bronze, a greater
focus would be on how the host city fares.
